Hento Xuan

A low-key yet highly distinctive bassist, he has quietly rooted himself both on stage and behind the scenes. Possessing a sharp yet powerful musical persona, he always stands out amid rhythmic grooves. Much like the tone of a Sadowsky bass—understated, yet it cuts through clearly in any ensemble, carving out a profound, unique sonic space like the deep ocean.

Hento Xuan is a professional musician. He currently serves as a director of the Shanghai Popular Music Association. He began his formal study of double bass under the tutelage of Teacher Zheng Deren at an early age, and switched to electric bass performance in 1996. His professional endeavors primarily include: accompanying artists on concert tours, recording for variety shows, studio session work, music production, as well as running self-media channels focused on musical instrument instruction, reviews and promotion.

He has collaborated with a host of renowned artists for recordings and concert performances, including Han Hong, Hu Yanbin, Zhou Shen, Shin Hsiao Chi, Jolin Tsai, Ding Dang, Chen Linong, Li Yuchun, Teens in Times, Luo Zhongxu, among others.
