Hellen López

Hellen López is a bass player from Bogotá D.C., Colombia, with an international career, known for her versatility and strong musical foundation. She began playing electric bass at the age of 12 and holds a degree in Music from the Universidad Pedagógica Nacional de Colombia, graduating with a meritorious thesis. She has performed across jazz, fusion rock, and Latin music projects, appearing on international stages in Ecuador, Mexico, the Maldives, among others. She studied under bassist Mauricio Sichacá, a key influence in shaping her musical voice and approach to the instrument.

She approaches music as a personal language of connection and expression, with fusion at the core of her artistic identity. Her sound is shaped by the intersection of commercial, popular, and academic music traditions. She remains active through performances and collaborations, continuously exploring new sonic possibilities on the electric bass.
