Lars Lehmann

Most of you will know German bassplayer Lars Lehmann from our Sadowksy and Warwick video demos on YouTube. But there’s a lot more to learn about this guy from Hannover, Germany. Ever since the mid-1990’s countless tours have led the versatile electric bass and double bass freelancer around the globe multiple times. At the same time his distinctive playing style became an important groove backbone of numerous recordings. Lars has worked with artists such as German chart breaker Sasha, Bobby Kimball (TOTO), Dave Bickler (Survivor), Bill Champlin (Chicago), Uli Jon Roth (Scorpions), Gus G. (Ozzy Osbourne), U.F.O., Marty Friedman (Megadeth), Simon Phillips, Vinnie Moore, Clyde Stubblefield, Bobby Byrd, Pee Wee Ellis, Roachford, Sydney Youngblood or Mousse T., to name but a few. He has also written one of the best teaching method books on slap bass: „Slap Attack“. The book (so far in German only!) is available via his website www.larslehmann.com, as is his solo album „Music Like Pictures“. Over the years Lars has also achieved a high reputation as a bass educator and has shared his thoughts on playing music at the Popakademie in Mannheim, the Hochschule fuer Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover, the Academy Of Contemporary Music (ACM) in London, or at the Warwick Bass Camp, where he taught classes alongside bass legends like Victor Wooten, Steve Bailey, Bobby Vega, Stu Hamm or Gary Willis. Apart from his work as a musician and educator Lars also works as a bass demonstrator for the BassTheWorld YouTube channel. He is also head of the bass editorial office of the biggest German online magazine, www.bonedo.de. Lars loves his Sadowsky Metroline Vintage JJ as well as his Sadowsky Metroline Will Lee. Oh, and his next Sadowsky Metroline bass - a 24 frets Modern 5 bass, is currently being produced proudly by Sadowsky Germany.
