Martin Motnik - Accept

Martin Motnik was born in 1972 in Ludwigshafen, Germany. As a child, he initially played acoustic guitar but switched to electric guitar at the age of 10. He discovered the bass at 13, inspired by bass heroes like John Entwistle, Billy Sheehan, and Geddy Lee. In 2003, he decided to fully dedicate himself to music and moved to Munich, where he played with bands such as Darkseed, Atargatis, The Roxx, and Eisbrecher. In 2008, Martin relocated to Los Angeles, and shortly after his move to the U.S., he was hired by Uli Jon Roth (former Scorpions) for his North American tour. This first tour was followed by additional tours with Roth in 2009 and 2012. In 2010, Martin moved to Las Vegas, where he played in various casinos. From 2014 to 2018, he also worked for Carnival Cruise Lines. Meanwhile, he had been running the website www.studiobassist.com for many years and collaborated with musicians like Gregg Bissonette, Phil Campbell, Bruce Kulick, and Ralf Scheepers. In 2019, Martin became the successor of Peter Baltes in Accept—Motnik had only 1.5 weeks to learn the 22 songs. Since then, Martin Motnik has been playing his Sadowsky basses on international stages and in the studio with Accept, and we are proud to craft these instruments for him in Germany with great joy. By the way, Martin’s solo albums are also highly recommended, featuring renowned names like Joe Satriani, Wolf Hoffmann, Frank Gambale, Jennifer Batten, Derek Sherinian, and Gregg Bissonette. Keep on rocking hard, Martin!
