Roger Sadowsky has always aimed to improve an already successful bass design by making a number of detailed and vital changes. By engineering and creating his own electronics, Roger succeeded in improving the sound of a J/J bass with that special Sadowsky tone: Never harsh or shrill sounding. Bass that is strong and powerful but never muddy. Mids that are present but not too aggressive and a treble range that is sweet and airy. This 4-string left-hand bass features a sleek, undersized J-Style body made of chambered American Swamp Ash with a Solid Black High Polish finish. The neck is made of American Maple with a 1.5" / 38.5 mm wide nut and features an American Maple fingerboard. String spacing at the bridge is 0.79" / 20 mm and the string distance between all of the strings is 2.36" / 60 mm. Additional features of this bass include Sadowsky J-Style pickups, active electronics with true bypass, Vintage Tone Control, treble and bass boost. The hardware includes light open gear Sadowsky tuners and a Sadowsky Quick String Release Bridge. Made exclusively in Germany, a Sadowsky MetroLine 21-Fret Vintage J/J bass will never weigh more than 8.9 lbs (4.0 kg). It’s a great choice for players who want a lightweight bass that offers a modern bass sound.

The chambered Swamp Ash body is known for is bright, clear tone. We select the best American Swamp Ash for its unique resonant tonal qualities and striking grain patterns. Giving you a Sadowsky bass that both looks and sounds beautiful. For players who prefer a lighter bass.
Neck
A maple neck featuring a double action truss rod for precise neck adjustment and two carbon fibre rods to reinforce the neck and maintain stability.
Fingerboard
The maple fingerboard on our MetroLine basses offer a crisper, tighter, brighter and more aggressive sound, making this bass perfect for funk and slap styles.
