Roger Sadowsky’s goal has always been to improve a bass's design through a number of specific and integral changes. By building his own electronics, Roger succeeded in improving the sound of a traditional P/J bass with that special Sadowsky tone: Never harsh or shrill. Strong, powerful bass that is never muddy. Present, but not too aggressive, mids and a sweet and airy treble range. This 4-string left-hand P/J bass features a sleek, undersized J-Style body made of chambered American Red Alder finished in an Antique Tobacco Transparent Satin finish. The neck is made of American Maple and features a Morado (Pau Ferro) fingerboard. Special features of this bass include a Sadowsky P-Style neck pickup and a J-Style bridge pickup, active electronics with true bypass, Vintage Tone Control, treble and bass boost. The hardware includes light Sadowsky open gear tuners and a Sadowsky Quick String Release Bridge. The Sadowsky MetroLine 21-Fret Vintage P/J bass is made exclusively in Germany and will never weigh more than 8.9 lbs (4.0 kg). It’s a great choice for players who want a lightweight bass with a modern P/J bass sound.
Construction
Body
The chambered Red Alder body offers you balanced, rounded and full-bodied tones with strong mids, and a warmer sound compared to Swamp Ash. Our workshop sources the best American Red Alder and specially chambers each body to reduce weight without sacrificing the tonal qualities.
Neck
A maple neck featuring a double action truss rod for precise neck adjustment and two carbon fibre rods to reinforce the neck and maintain stability.
Fingerboard
The Morado (Pau Ferro) fingerboard on our MetroLine basses offer a sweet, warm and mellow sound with excellent tonal definition.
